Dress Code

All students must adhere to the dress code or they may be asked to sit out of class. This is for the safety of students and cleanliness of the space. See below for more detailed information on the dress code for each class discipline.

  • General Dress Code

    Dancewear is required for all classes, please no jeans, dresses, or skirts. Hair must be up off the neck and secured neatly for movement, no plastic headbands or hats. No baggy clothing or jewelry. No gum chewing or food on the dance floor. WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND THE AVOIDANCE OF LONG NAILS.

  • Pre-K

    Tights (any color) and a leotard or dance outfit (any color). Hair up neatly. Please note that the studio does get a bit chilly during the winter months. They will need tap shoes, ballet shoes and a dance bag for all classes. We try to avoid water bottles at this age if possible.

  • Primary Ballet and Jazz

    Transition tights (any color) and any color leotard. Hair up neatly out of face. Ballet shoes for ballet, jazz shoes for jazz. They may wear shorts over their leotard for jazz.

  • Ballet Levels 1-7

    Black leotard and pink tights. Canvas or leather ballet shoes. Ballet skirts and tight fitted warm ups only, no shorts or leggings. Hair must be in a neat, secured bun. No jewelry. All baggy clothing will be asked to be removed prior to the start of class. Tight fitted warm ups are permitted for the first few exercises at barre.

  • Jazz

    Fitted dancewear. Leotard and tan tights or leggings, shorts and a fitted tank top or shirt. Tan jazz shoes and a bun or modified bun. Warm ups must also be reasonably fitted athletic clothing. NO BAGGY CLOTHING.

  • Contemporary

    Fitted dancewear. Tan jazz shoes, bare feet, socks or turning shoes (per teachers request). Bun or modified bun. No baggy clothing.

  • Acrobatics

    Fitted dancewear. Leotard and footless tights, biketards, or bike shorts and fitted top required as the dancer will participate in partnering lifts and upside down tricks. Hair must be secured in a bun with no bulky clips or barrettes. Bare feet. No baggy clothing.

  • Tap

    Fitted dancewear. Hair in a modified bun. Tap shoes, Capezio brand only (most other brands will ruin our dance floor).

  • Hip-Hop

    Clean indoor sneakers and comfortable streetwear that allows you to move. Please no jeans, dresses, skirts or hats.
